dear ian (friends)
thanks i think i remember david (a little) - i wish there was one person who still made publishing choices who understood my father as someone to learn from

through this academic year lord stern at lse is the only resident economist beijing truly has any time for - thats because sir danny alexander is now locally who beijing relies on to translate what the heck the pound and banking ever did together with or without the constitution queen victoria and walter bagehot intended commonwealth to  start the 20th century with

the two younger people my father expected to lead content world leadership now (author of asia rising, and the head of the consultancy of the economist) both died in sporting accidents! asia rising was particularly unlucky through the 1990s- he was just about to be appointed to edit anew business fortnightly out of asia financed by a chinese billionnaire when the south east asia financial crisis of 1990s struck- i still have the notes dad wrote on content needed to start such a paper magazine at that time

several others who dad mentored seem to have ended up so tied to big banking circles or billionnaires like gates that they cant see their feet from the clouds- we have the two peculiar "young" pretenders in new york- matthew bishop who amy has met now number 3 main in rockefeller foundation and john micklethwait now editor in chief of everything bloomberg- sadly economist journalists have completely delinked from prince charles leaving only lord sainsburys daughter sarah butler sloss with any chance of connecting what used to be st james 2 networks of sustainability goals world

i think i prefer to visit beijing than new york these days -ed mark camilo jose are there in ny in ways i can never reach out to anyhow
in the event that david has an idea of who i should talk to- my passport ran out of visa space so  i have to be in london week starting oct 22

still struggling on the communications snakes and ladders  brac managers almost destroyed all the intros amy and i had made to the chinese academic network jack ma uses most -

as below  i am rewriting xi jinping bio and will probably end up being the FBI's next whipping horse

worldrecordjobs.com use this date-stamping legend  to map12 seven year periods repreesent social sustainability's moores law - doubling commns tech every 7 years form 1946 =4000+ times moore anti-social media by 2030 unless it changes education's sustainability gen from bottom to top

= when person started life changing alumni network -eg both ma and abed are 46 years into their exponential multipliers
1967-1974 fazle abed without whom worlds poorest village women would not have built their own last mile health services or any of the other solutions of ultra sustainability goals requiring total bottom-up transformation of development banking models that sir fazle and bangladesh as 8th most populous nation (and poorest nations of 1970s) shared with joy, hope and courage worldwide
1967-1974 Jack Ma began his journey in parallel with sir fazle abed as one of the 3 greatest liveihood educators of all time  - curiously their cusstomers urgent needs intersected at 3 critical times 1974 when they were the only outside contact to the world; 1995 when mobile webs started being tested anywhere; 2018 when jack ma partnered bracs fintech but bracs education people refused to learn who jack ma would be next
1974-1981 murthy and nilekani lead founders of infosys the startup of digital india
1981-1988 Xi Jinping emerges as youth servant leader of movement of ending poverty by interfacing rural and urban development -through which chinese youth will be asked to turn dreams into reality by celebrating the higher order purpose of chinese capitalism by evolving  new (borderless) network of place leadership BRI.school . His peers start to link in alumni organisation revolving around the transformation of tsinghua as world's number 1 public servant university and from 2008 connector of the suburb of beijing that becomes the sustainable world's number 1 digital entrepreneurs hub In this part of beijing, other outstanding universities within walking distance are peking university and renmin university. Together this locates the largest student population (and international exchange opportunities) in the world. NB Exponential impacts between 1990 and 2010 of national policies such as one child mean that the majority of family trees become dependent on the smart networking of their one 24-35 year old. IN surprising ways this links in the social security of the nation round women lift up half the sky- girl graduates increasingly take on their generations responsibility for worldwide youth friendships including sister cities and grounding what applications tech wizards code.

Subject: Your Dad

Morning Chris,

I was having lunch the other day with a very good, long-time friend of mine and we were talking about your Dad!

David Hangar, a wonderful old-chap now, is a former Publisher of the Economist who I have known for 35 years and I just asked him if he remembered your Dad....he did, and with much fondness and he said they have never had anyone who filled his visionary shoes....

I just thought you'd like to know he is still remembered with such affection...

Hope all good with you....

Very best wishes

Ian
